EIFFEL SCHOLARSHIP: A PASSPORT TO EXCELLENCE

EDHEC, one of the top Business Schools in Europe, is fully accredited by the French Government and was one of the first schools worldwide to be awarded the triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA: the guarantee of academic excellence. EDHEC confirms its excellence by consistently ranking at the top of the latest worldwide rankings.

Every year, international applicants looking to finance their studies consider the EIFFEL Scholarship, which grants more than €1,200 per month. Launched by the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and managed by CampusFrance, this prestigious scholarship is reserved for elite overseas students on masters, engineering and PhD courses. The 2013/2014 Eiffel Scholarship information will soon be made available on their website.

Highly competitive, the scholarship requires EDHEC to select the strongest applicants-those with a GMAT score of more than 700 and an excellent GPA. In 2012, CampusFrance received 1,446 applications selected by French business schools and universities and only 480 candidates were awarded the scholarship including EDHEC students.

EDHEC applies for the EIFFEL Scholarship on behalf of eligible students admitted to either the Master in Management or one of its Master of Science programmes. For the EIFFEL scholarship, the school considers only completed applications received before 1 December 2012 from applicants with a GMAT score of 700 and above. Applications are then sent to the EIFFEL Committee and are examined by a panel of experts. Several key criteria are used by the EIFFEL Committee to grant the scholarship and the GMAT is an important one. It is crucial for high-potential applicants to prepare themselves for the GMAT well in advance.

Why is and why the GMAT so important?
EDHEC is a member of GMAC (founder of the GMAT), an exclusive circle geared to promoting management education throughout the world. Widely used in top business schools and universities around the world, the GMAT is mandatory at EDHEC. It is an important part of any application and a good indicator of a candidate's overall performance and abilities to cope with our highly demanding master programmes. Scoring above requirements offers applicants the opportunity to apply for EDHEC's financial aid and scholarships; and for those with a score over 700, the potential chance to be selected by the school for the EIFFEL scholarship .GRE scores are accepted and will be converted by the International Admissions' Team upon application.

How to prepare and take the GMAT?
Candidates first need to register on the GMAT website and request their official GMAT score report to be sent to EDHEC by selecting the 3QQWQ01 school code. The best advice to give to candidates is to prepare for the test well in advance (3 months preparation is a minimum) in order to fully benefit from the preparation tools available on the website, to understand the format and to take as many as possible mock exams.

"As the application for the EIFFEL scholarship can be forwarded only for a specific course, one needs to be very sure about one's aspirations. After due process, I found that EDHEC's programme best addressed my specific needs. I was delighted to be awarded the scholarship. It instills a sense of achievement and confidence to aim for bigger things. I am really grateful to CampusFrance and EDHEC for having provided me this opportunity." Ankit Sukhija from India, 2012 MSc in Strategy & Organisation Consultancy Student, EIFFEL Scholar.

"After receiving the long-expected offer from EDHEC last year, I was informed that based on my academic excellence, GMAT and prominent background, I was in the position to apply for the Eiffel Scholarship. It is an extremely selective scholarship of excellence and I am still grateful for what EDHEC has offered to me and I believe the scholarship is not only the recognition for me, but also the pride of EDHEC!"Han LI from China, 2012 MIM Financial Economics Student, EIFFEL Scholar.
